Hello Cottage Grove, Oregon

Cottage Grove is Home

Welcome to Cottage Grove, Oregon!

Cottage Grove lays south of the junction to the Row River and the Coast Fork of the Willamette River. It’s nestled amongst the Calapooya Mountain Range and is the Southernmost town located in Lane County.  Centrally located to Eugene and Roseburg, along I-5.

This, the third-largest city in Lane County, has kept its small-town charm and hospitalities throughout the years.  Rich with history, traditions, and a long line of families that have lived here for generations, this town is proud.

Cottage Grove is a beautiful and friendly place.

Surrounded by nature, it is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. There is never a loss for photo opportunities with hiking trails, fishing, camping, bike paths, city parks, lakes, boating, and historic Covered Bridges.

This quaint town boasts gorgeous artwork and murals painted throughout, that point to their rich history and famous claims-to-fame.  One mural, none as famous as Buster Keaton’s “The General,” is painted on the Historic Cottage Grove Hotel side.  Other’s feature Opal Whiteley, scenes from our past; railroad, logging, and gold mining.

Small local businesses are the heart of this community.

The businesses that line the ‘Historic Downtown District’ are as diverse as the locals.  The town has several local farms, so finding fresh quality produce and meats is never a problem.  You’ll find local pubs and brews, wonderful restaurants and food trucks, awesome book stores that smell fresh coffee and dreams.

You can purchase new furniture or revive some antiques.  You can attend plays and watch live music at the Bohemia Park Amphitheater during the Summer months.  While there, walk across the street and check out the Cottage Grove Historical Society Museum located in the newly renovated ‘Boots and Sandals Square Dance Barn.’  (Locals remember this venue fondly).  Inside you’ll find some wonderful people that will tell you of all the quirky stories of how this town came to be.  You’ll leave with a smile and a sense of what it means to be a “Grover.”  You’ll understand how we became a resourceful and hearty bunch.
